Humic Acid – A Hidden Gem

What is Humic Acid?

Humic Acid is the main component of humus, which is one of the main organic components. It is available in nature as a result of the decomposition of organic matter in the soil over millions of years.

What are the benefits of Humic Acid for Plants and Soil?

  • Improve soil structure and increase its fertility
  • Give the soil a dark color and help adjust the pH
  • Prevent the loss of water and nutrients in light and sandy soils, while at the same time turning it into fertile soil.
  • Prevent cracking of the soil, surface water erosion, and soil erosion by increasing the ability of colloidal materials to cohesion
  • Positively affect seed germination and foliage development
  • Help revitalize soil microorganisms thanks to improving chemical and physical properties

When to use Humic Acid?

Humic can be used in exhausted, highly saline soils that lack organic matter.

The best timing is when starting to grow seedlings, or helping new plants develop strong roots (depending on the type of soil and the crop).

What is the difference between Fulvic and Humic?

Fulvic acid is one of the humic acid compounds, which means that humic compounds contain fulvic acid. The contents of fulvic increases with the increase in the quality and price of the proposed humic compound.

Fulvic acid has a smaller molecular weight than humic acid, which is the part that is absorbed by the plant. Therefore, the validity of fulvic acids for spraying and fertilizing is higher to increase its absorption without accumulation.

Can humic acid be mixed with Iron Fertilizer (Fe)?

The best way to use iron in our lands is to use humic acid with it to ensure that the roots properly absorb it.

Can Humic Acid be mixed with NPK?

Humic acid can be mixed with NPK. In fact, it enhances the efficiency of absorption of elements within the NPK, as humic acid acts as a natural chelator of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. These elements which are the main components of the NPK compound works on improving the plant’s nutrient absorption for extended periods, and also prevents losses in the soil by washing, volatilization or fixation.

Can Humic Acid be mixed with Potassium?

Humic acid originally contains potassium in its natural formula, and adding potassium to it in a mixing process when fertilizing helps enhance the presence of potassium in the soil and thus, the formation of cell walls and increase of fruit sizes
